Welcome to our third annual exclusive ranking of the leading worldwide manufacturers of advanced ceramics, glasses and refractories! The CI Top 12 highlights the true strength and depth of our industry. In the past year, the companies in this year’s ranking produced over $55 billion worth of advanced ceramics, glass and refractories products for industries such as aerospace, electronics, automotive, defense, and medical/dental. They employed hundreds of thousands of individuals and operated over a thousand facilities around the world. What’s more, they spent nearly $2 billion on R&D efforts, working to guarantee the continued growth and advancement of these vital advanced products and technologies.

To compile the CI Top 12, we evaluated survey information, along with additional details from company websites, annual reports, press releases and company contacts. Details such as annual sales, number of employees/facilities, and R&D spending are listed (where available), along with descriptions of each company and news of their activities.

All information was reviewed and verified whenever possible. While our staff made every effort to seek out and find details regarding the top companies in the industry, some may have been omitted. We will work throughout the year to provide any changes or updates for the online version of the CI Top 12 and in next year’s CI Top 12 issue.
