Khater Massaad Group’s (KMG) Al Forsan brand has expanded in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia. The sanitaryware factory, the first of three ceramic production plants established in close collaboration with Sacmi, has successfully been tested and started up in the Al Forsan industrial district.

In addition to the high-efficiency body preparation department, Al Forsan Sanitaryware has installed Sacmi-designed solutions for the pressure casting of sanitaryware articles using porous resin molds. The Al Forsan plant can manufacture open-rim toilets on its fully automated multi-mold high-pressure casting bench. The toilets are then transferred to the new robotized glazing line by Gaiotto, the Sacmi Group company that specializes in designing process automation solutions. They are then sent on for firing and re-firing, a process that takes advantage of the tunnel and shuttle kilns supplied by Riedhammer.

Following this investment, productivity on the new sanitaryware line has reached 3,000 pieces a day, or about one million pieces a year. By renewing its partnership with Sacmi, and as a result of a new sanitaryware collection offering modern design and simple yet exclusive lines, the KMG Group aims to improve its positioning in Saudi Arabia and, from there, branch out into new high-end ceramic sanitaryware markets.
