The new Schenck Process SIMPLEX flat bottom (FB) is a high-capacity stainless steel feeder reportedly designed for handling materials with light and fluffy characteristics. With a bottom-driven vertical agitator and an auxiliary agitator, the feeder is well-suited for hard-to-feed materials when feeding to an extruder. The main agitator runs close to the flat bottom of the feed module to assist the filling of the feed screw, and the auxiliary agitator supports product flow at the lower end of the extension hopper.

The SIMPLEX FB reportedly can be operated either as a loss-in-weight or volumetric feeder. When designed as a loss-in-weight feeder, the unit comes equipped with VKN weighing modules that are either placed underneath the feet of the feeder or directly on the mounting floor. A modular hopper concept supports easy installation, and a one-seal concept for all shaft seals provides quick maintenance.
