Entries Sought for National Brick in Architecture Awards

The Brick Industry Association (BIA) has issued a call for entries for its 2012 Brick in Architecture Awards, which honor outstanding, innovative and sustainable brick design. As the largest and most prestigious juried competition of its kind, the Brick in Architecture Awards showcase the finest work in clay face and paving brick from architects and builders around the country. The deadline for all submissions is Monday, April 27.

“As a natural building material made in America, brick has become a vital part of our nation’s green building design,” said Gregg Borchelt, P.E., FASTM, FCSI, president and CEO of the BIA. “The annual winning projects express the best in brick design ingenuity, sustainability, and natural, lasting value and beauty.”

Entries can be submitted online in one or more of the eight categories: Commercial, Educational/Schools, Health Care Facilities, House of Worship, Municipal/Government/Civic, Residential–Single Family, Residential–Multi-Family, Paving, and Landscape Architecture.

Winners from this year’s competition will be featured in Brick News Online, Brick in Architecture, and through a special insert in the November 2012 issue of Architect magazine. All entries will be featured in BIA’s online Brick Gallery.
