Asahi Glass Co. Ltd. (AGC) recently announced plans to build a new production facility for ultra-thin glass at the AGC Flat Glass Thailand (AFT) Rayong Plant. This new facility is dedicated to the production of ultra-thin glass (soda lime), which is used as cover glass for the touchscreens of notebook computers and other electronic devices.

AGC reportedly plans to start product supply in March. The investment is intended to boost the production capacity for ultra-thin glass by 50%.
